Art

I visited a fish mongers to collect additional photography research and I took different shots of the many range of fish from different angles. I selected one of photographs to create the painting and applied the same palette knife technique that I have used throughout my work. I find this painting technique effective as it is not too precise compared to a paint brush and it creates the impression of texture and suits the photograph used.

Artist Research

Besides looking at paintings of fish by artists, i also wanted to look into pattern. I decided to research M.C Escher and here i found fish patterns. From the researched photos of his work i copied his tecnique of the abstract patterns of fish. This technique could be developed and could be used in my final piece.

Art - Artist Research

For my artist research, i was unfortunately not able to find many artists who's focus was on fish. The artist i used was Internet searched, who was J.Vincent. Vincent work i found inspiring, with the colours and tecnhniques used in his collection. This is my version of one of his beautiful paintings.

Art - Experiments

From the photographs i collected of Carp fish i created a series of experimental paintings of the different photographs with using the same technique and palette knife tool to create the sence of movement in the painting.

A2 - Art

Here is an A1 painting of the smaller version in my art portfolio. I used a palette knife to create a technique of movement in the painting from the Carp.

A2 - Art

For my Art project i have chosen to do fish. As apart of research for the project i went to Stapley Water Gardens and took arrange of photographs of Carp. I chose a section of one of the photos to create an experimental painting by using a palette knife for a painting style.

Shape and Proportion development

Here is a sample of my Shape and Proportion development section which is about adapting the design proposal, such as using fashion tape for adapting shape on mannequin, construction and decoration adapting. Here i used inspiration from my designer by using curtain tape as a gathering technique just on the back of the garment.
